Our client, a leading contractor in the afforadable housing sector is seeeking a Quantity Surveyor to work on Planned Works on site in Brighton.

This is a full-time permanent role offering a competitive market salary, car or car allowance and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

* Manage commercial administration and management on several live projects or projects at pre-construction phase;

* Management and control of subcontract orders, accounts and variation accounts in line with the main contract and sub-contract data base

* Post-tender internal and external pricing analysis/assessment for sign-off whilst ensuring within budget

* Conduct contract risk and opportunity assessment to identify these areas and plan for them accordingly to ensure pricing remains on budget without undermining Health and Safety.

* Manage subcontractor and professional services selection for new schemes, ensure the chosen contractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their work, and helping to prepare procurement schedules liaising with legal counsel as required regarding contractual information (collateral warranties, PCG’s, etc)

* To take an overview and interest to work in unison with the Contract Manager on;

* pre-start planning and programming

* subcontractor selection and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate skill set and capability to deliver the works. Place the appropriate order and all required information to carry out their work

* assist with contractual issues and take action as required

* Track critical path delay analysis from the Contracts Manager and assess financial impacts for potential claims

* Develop an understanding of all designated contracts, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout the contracts

Who are you?

* 2 years post graduate experience within a surveying position reporting to either a senior surveyor or a commercial manager

* Experience with cladding and general refurbishments

* Strong planned works experience as a QS

* Experience with excellent influencing and negotiation skills with the supply chain and/or external clients to ensure the business maximises profit throughout contract schemes

* Excellent level of numeracy and verbal communication skills

* IT skills

* Full driving licence
