Global Corporation seeks an End User Computing Analyst (EUC Analyst) / Application Packager to assist with monthly packaging of a number of applications to be deployed to 5000 users using SCCM 2012 (no experience of SCCM is required).
Working within a Wintel infrastructure team environment you will work within a team of Packaging Analysts to build packages which include applications such as Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash Player, Java as well as MS Office and deploy these to a user base of 5000 users with the use of the remote access tool Auto IT and the package deployment tool SCCM. The End User Computing Analyst (EUC Analyst) / Application Packager handle the deployment but you will receive training and support as you develop experience in this area. Creation of Packages is undertaken using the Flexera Installshield AdminStudio; basic experience with this system or other similar tools such as ORCA will be sufficient.
Packaging and deployment occurs on a monthly basis to cater for multiple updates and changes in requirements. The user base of 5000 is dispersed across Europe and as such contact needs to be made with the users via Auto IT, and at times over the phone, prior to deployment of the package to ensure that the users' documents have been saved and that they are ready for the system to update their respective machines. With this European user base in mind, excellent 2nd line user support and overall communication skills will be required.
We are searching for candidates who are already Application Packagers / EUC Analysts or who want to move 100% into this area from another 2nd or 3rd line generalist support role. You will need to have experience of creating packages using industry tools such as Flexera Installshield AdminStudio or ORCA as well as experience with remote access tool such as Citrix LogmeIn, Teamviewer or ideally AutoIT. You will be familiar with the problems associated to application packaging and be familiar with troubleshooting of packages that include standard office based software (MS Office, Java, Adobe etc).
Applications from more junior candidates are welcomed providing that there is some evidence of application packaging, experience (to a degree) with Windows Server AD/GP, exceptional 2nd line support skills and user support experience and be 100% focussed on becoming an Application Packager / Packaging Analyst with a view to developing skills in SCCM alongside, combined with core Wintel infrastructure engineering.
