Assistant Estimator/ Surveyor

Pay: £30,000.00 – £40,000.00per year

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Work Location: Main Office near Brighton

Division:

New build carpentry, working for national builders

Job Summary

Supporting the surveyors in the commercial operations of the carpentry business. The assistant estimator/surveyor will be the secondary figure in the estimating/surveying of the contracts for the live and prospective projects. To also support contacts managers on live sites.

Roles and responsibilities

* Receive tenders, log and download.

* Document control tender packs.

* Carry out a full review of the tender pack including drawings/specifications etc and complete a full take-off to prepare tenders.

* Communicate with client surveyors to receive further information if required to assist with pricing.

* Attention to detail.

* Prepare and submit qualifications to accompany tenders.

* Prepare and discuss tenders in adjudication meetings prior to submission.

* Advise team on contractual and construction risks on secured projects.

* Provide support to the surveyors with live projects with tender insight.

* Estimating of rates for any variations.

* Working alongside the Surveyors to ensure pipeline of work through tendering, chasing leads and converting into secured projects.

* Updating the tender trackers as tenders are worked through.

* Closely working alongside surveyors to find and win new work.

* Pro-active approach. Proficient I.T skills, multi-tasking, emails & communication. Excellent communication skills.

* Establishing and maintaining relationships with main contractor surveyors and estimators.

* The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

* Ability to use take-off software, such as Bluebeam

* Self-motivated worker, work independently when needed
