Position: 3rd Line Systems Engineer

Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum based on experience

About the role:
As a service focused business, ensuring our operation runs free of disruption is critical in delivering the high-standard that our clients have come to expect. You achieve this through your proactive approach to issue resolution and the application of your expert knowledge in IT infrastructure. You’ll be the point of escalation for more specialised or network related queries and participate in continuous improvement activities and projects.
On a day to day basis you’ll collaborate with the IT team through daily stand-ups to agree and allocate key deliverables and set wider objectives with the IT Infrastructure Manager.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
4+ years’ experience in a hands-on technical role.
A good understanding of applications and infrastructure monitoring, logging, and ability to build auto-scaling infrastructure.
Experience in Virtualisation Technologies (VMware).
O365 management experience.
Windows based web technologies (IIS).
Excellent IT process skills with a good understanding of IT security.
Experience working with Azure Cloud and understanding of Azure Resource Manager implementations and a good knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
Commercial programming experience (preferably C#).
SQL Database experience, with an understanding of DB optimisation and query creation (Azure SQL or MS SQL).
A good understanding of source control (Git).
Knowledge of Linux based operating systems.
