JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Financial Control Manager to join our tam, in this role you will manage a small team responsible for the integrity of the general ledger for a specific trading region. This involves the management of month end close, general ledger entries (bank, revenue, cost of sales, payroll, overheads), variance analysis, and sales billing, as well as month end balance sheet reporting and identification of risks and exposures. The role includes ownership of the region’s reconciliation and controls, monitoring of systems and processes, and relationship management with Group Finance and Commercial Finance teams across the Group. This role is responsible for reporting on the status and integrity of the balance sheet and for the running of the annual audit and statutory accounts production for that region’s trading entities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Management of the interim and annual audit. Liaise with local auditors, tax and legal advisors
* Responsible for the integrity of the balance sheet and reporting quarterly on the risks and opportunities to key stakeholders.
* Preparation of the quarterly balance sheet and BTL variance schedules and year end support schedule packs
* Review monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, control account reconciliations, revenue, debtors, unearned revenue, accruals and prepayments, and ensure differences are identified and resolved.
* Ensure partners are billed on a timely and accurate basis and cash received in line with SOPs
* Liaise and manage auditors at interim and year-end close.
* Support the budget holders in coding queries or accounting guidance.
* Build a productive working environment through constructive, regular and timely feedback with appropriate involvement, delegation and monitoring of staff
* Align the performance plans of staff to achieve financial objectives and evaluate the performance
* Encourage a culture of coaching, professional development and self-improvement
* Assist the wider Finance team with ad hoc project work, as required
* Involvement in Continuous improvement projects

EXPERIENCE
* ACCA/ACA qualified
* 2 yrs+ PQE
* Managing an audit process
* Statutory financial statements preparation
* Using a range of finance/MI systems
* Team management/supervision experience
* Appreciation of IFRS and FRS 101
* Ability to prepare and review financial statements
* Ability to communicate effectively and convey technical information to non-finance audiences.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent ability to multi-task, managing up and downwards and prioritising accordingly
* Relationship management and customer service skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Ability to work effectively in a team.
* Strong Excel skills.
* Good working knowledge of accountancy systems (Agresso an advantage)
