Chief Aerospace Engineer Contract

Our client, an Aerospace and Defence contractor is looking for a Chief Aerospace Engineer to join them on a 4-month contract at their site in Brighton.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be willing to undergo security checks
4 month initial contract
4 days per week onsite in Brighton
Inside IR35, flexible rates depending on experienceResponsibilities of the role:

Direct, motivate and provide leadership to the Integrated Project Team Engineers in line with the project plan.
Direct design and development Engineering tasks in conjunction with IPT Engineers to enable task delivery within agreed timescales and budgets.
Provide key technical focal point of contact for IPT to interact with internal and external customers on a senior technical level.
Design Review Delivery.
Provide expert input and guidance to managing Change Review and Failure Review Boards.
Analysis of technical requirements to determine and monitor design Technical Performance Measures.
Provide regular reporting and KPI status to the Product Group Lead Engineer

Experience & Skills:

Essential

10+ years' experience in an aerospace domain operating at a senior level leading Engineering teams to deliver optimised design solutions.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace Engineering or equivalent higher Engineering qualifications plus experience.
Engineering team management to deliver Engineering tasks in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements to timescales and budgets.
Significant detail design experience with dynamic, gas and electro-mechanical systems.
Deep understanding of the Systems Engineering development lifecycle process (Requirements, Systems Design, Verification and Validation).
Strong communication skills with the focus on technical leadership for complex design and development projects.
Ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner to drive a compliant design solution.
Full understanding of the process for equipment Certificate of Design release in accordance with DAOS and MAA regulatory requirements.
Good knowledge on hardware testing methodologies and testing frameworks
