This is an exciting opportunity to join Brighton College Prep School as a School Secretary, to start as soon as possible. The role will be term-time plus a number of additional weeks during the school holidays, to be agreed during the interview.
You will join us on a full-time basis and in return the salary you will receive is £19,000 – £22,000 per annum, depending on the agreed number of working weeks.
The School Secretary Role:
Managing large administrational tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
Completing projects associated with the smooth running of both the Pre-Prep and Prep school office.
Supporting the office team with annual activities e.g. census on iSAMS.

Responsible for the ordering of catering for whole school events.
Assisting with the administration of school rewards and sanctions systems on a weekly basis.
Overseeing the iSAMS calendar and updating events to form the termly booklet.
Completion of Reception duties when required.
Answering school phones and greeting visitors/signing them in.
Assisting with the daily dismissal process, including completing daily bus registers Maintaining daily list changes on SOCS so dismissal is up to date.
Providing cover for the other office roles in absence, including the Nursery & Pre-Prep site.
Responsible for the setting up of clubs and activities onto the parent booking system and SOCS.
Setting up Parents' Evening appointments on the system and overseeing the associated administration.
Assisting with placing orders, as required and checking deliveries.
Running termly reports and contacting parents: Child Student Visas, expired medicines etc.
Assisting with banking jobs.
Ensuring that post is taken and collected to and from the College daily.
Administrational activity support for Assistant Heads/Head of Departments and Head of Years.
This role will involve daily contact with pupils, and you will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Hours of work:
42.5 hours per week, 8.00am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday inclusive (with a one-hour unpaid lunch break) while the College is in session and at any other time (including during school holidays, at weekends and before and after the College's normal starting and finishing times) as may be necessary in the reasonable opinion of the headmaster for the proper performance of your duties.
This role will work term-time (35 weeks per year) plus additional weeks in the school holidays, the number of weeks to be agreed during the interview.
Annual leave should be taken outside of the working weeks for this role.
