Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Senior Examinations Administrator, to start as soon as possible. Working on a full-time, permanent basis, term-time (plus at least 15 days), the successful candidate will receive £35,000 – £38,000 pro rata.
The Senior Examinations Administrator Role
The primary role of the Senior Examinations Administrator (Exams Officer) is to manage the organisation and running of external (GCSE, A-level, Pre-U, BTEC, University Admissions Tests) and associated internal and mock examinations. It is an important role, requiring precision and an eye for detail so that all examinations run smoothly and are as stress-free as possible for pupils and staff.
The Senior Examinations Administrator works under the strategic guidance of the Head of Examinations, a teaching member of staff who oversees all exams in the College. The Senior Examinations Administrator acts as the main contact with Exam Boards and ensures examinations run in accordance with Exam Board regulations. They are responsible for all entries, exam paper processing and security and the day to day running of examinations and results/post-results processes. The Senior Examinations Administrator reports to the Deputy Head (academic) via the Head of Examinations.
The role is term-time (35 weeks) plus at least 15 days, to be agreed during interview. The salary will be prorated accordingly.
Responsibilities will include:
Liaise closely with the Head of Exams to ensure that all administration of internal/external exams and admissions tests run smoothly.
Ensure that data protection regulations are complied with.
Ensure information from Exam Boards about entries, processes and protocols are regularly communicated to the staff and pupil body.
Manage the team of invigilators.
Maintain up to date exam policies and stay up to date with exam developments.
Communicate contingency plans to staff in case of emergencies.
Ensure that all examinations are carried out in accordance with Examinations Boards’ regulations.
Provide advice, where needed, for the running of the Upper Fifth and Upper Sixth mock examinations and other internal examinations.
Managing archive files and historical data relating to assessment and examination results and dealing with enquiries from former pupils.
