Job Title: Property Management Accountant
Location: Brighton
Salary: £39,000 per annum – £42,000 per annum (dependent upon experience)
Full Time: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Our client is a leading property services company looking for a Property Management Accountant to join their dynamic team in Brighton. The ideal candidate for this Property Management Accountant role will be committed to developing their career further and have a good standard of education and excellent communication skills. As a Property Management Accountant, you will manage the finances of the company's portfolio of clients owning properties in Brighton and Hove. This role is full time from Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm, and includes training and a competitive list of benefits, such as 25 days of holiday (plus your birthday off).
Responsibilities
Control and responsibility for large volume of client money
Ensuring timely completion of all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual accounts processes
Awareness of and ensuring adhesion to the regulatory frameworks of RICS and ARMA
Where appropriate, developing department systems to improve efficiency and satisfy expectations of clients and leaseholders
Control and maintenance of property management database (Qube) – non-IT tasks
Recruitment and training of staff
Other general duties will be associated with the position
Requirements
Competencies:
Assist and support accounts team in resolving problems and difficulties
Problem-solving skills and ability to tackle and resolve a wide range of issues both accounting and process based
Ability to manage accounts staff
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and leaseholders
Excellent technical accounting skills with the ability to achieve the following after training:
Monthly reconciliation of all client money held between ledger and bank accounts, agree all control accounts
Ability to produce P & L and Balance Sheets for property service charges
Ability to assess the accounting requirements of new properties and ensure an appropriate structure is set up
Reconciling funds received from previous managing agentsQualifications & Experience:
A good standard of education is essential
Excellent communication skills – written, and verbal, presentation of information
Good knowledge of Excel
Knowledge of Qube is preferred
At least five years' experience of accounting within the property sector preferredAttitude:
