Our water sector client is seeking a Leakage Strategy Manager based out of Brighton 2 days a week in a hybrid working role managing the approach to leakage across the company.
Leakage management performance is key to the sustainability of our clients' water service to customers and how the environment is protected, both now and as future demand for water increases. Our client has a duty to act and uphold its principles to protect areas within the South East of England. They are looking for a Leakage Strategy Manager to develop a cost effective strategy for water leakage management related activities. This will include leakage control, accounting for water, water efficiency and other aspects of demand management. The role will be key in monitoring the delivery of the agreed strategy to achieve Business Plan Targets and continue the on-going development of the strategy to meet changing economic and technical requirements.
You will play a vital part in ensuring that our client meets regulatory obligations for leakage by leading the development of and implementing associated policies and protocols and establishing a collaborative framework with all stakeholders.
There is a huge budgetary investment for the next 5 years and beyond to continuously improve the water network to ensure that our client is doing everything in their power to alleviate leakage and thus preventing damage to the areas in which we live.
Your primary focus is to define the overall strategy for leakage management taking into account changing regulatory requirements and contingency plans for extreme environmental situations such as extended periods of drought or very adverse weather. You will annually review these strategies taking into account new innovation, industry best practice and changes in business risk.
You will have experience in driving change and continuously forward planning to identify any shortfalls or problems that may arise and implementing plans to overcome these.
Using your stakeholder and people management skills you will establish and continuously improve processes and effective working systems.
Working in a team dedicated to Demand Management whilst helping to take advantage of the significant investments Southern Water is making to transform its service to customers.Qualifications
Ideally you will be able to demonstrate a substantial amount of experience within the Water Network, with a strong knowledge of leakage management and strategy
You will have the proven ability to lead and inspire a team with the ability to think strategically and understand (and explain to others) complex technical and economic issues
Chartered membership of a professional body.
Knowledge of and experience of the operation of potable water systems.
Experience in the development and implementation of strategic plans
Understanding of risk assessments and risk management and able to develop and evaluate complex technical solutions
Understanding of the company's regulatory framework and regulatory and statutory obligations, financial aspects, performance and systems.
Highly developed technical, leadership and communication skills and able to deliver against challenging targets and timescales.Benefits

37 hour working week Monday to Friday with a 1 in 8 incident response rota (tbd)
