Job Title: Senior Management Accountant
Location: Brighton
Salary: £40k-£45k per annum depending on experience

Our client based in Brighton is looking to recruit a Senior Management Accountant to provide general financial support to Finance Director. Taking full responsibility for the management of the day-to-day financial activities of the business and provide monthly financial reports in a timely fashion. To continually monitor, develop and improve processes and financial reporting where possible.
Responsibilities
Ensure the integrity of the nominal ledger.
Manage and develop one direct finance administrative report.
Construct bi- weekly commission statements for clients.
To take full responsibility for payroll and pension administration, submissions, reporting and accounting. To check and submit monthly payroll through Sussex Payrolling services payroll, managing all payments and liaising with HMRC covering all aspects of submission and HMRC reporting. Ensure all posted correctly into SAP.
Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review by FD to include maintenance of small asset register. Continually review SAP from a financial reporting viewpoint and suggest improvements as appropriate.
Be the primary, Finance' point of contact' for the rest of the business.
Manipulate data extracted from SAP using excel.
Financial reporting:
Preparing monthly management accounts, budgets, cash flow, variance analysis and commentaries.
Providing a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions.
Professional Influence:
Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions.
Contributing to medium and long-term business planning and forecasts.
Offering professional judgement on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance. Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers.
Liaising with other function managers to put the finances and accounts in context.
Continual monitoring and evaluation of financial information systems (primarily SAP B1) and suggest improvements where needed.
Assist in the implementation of corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls.
Ensure governance policy is adhered to and in turn spending is monitored against both budget and policy.
Recommend methods and strategies for cutting costs. 10. Help prepare and support the audit process.
Advise company and/or department management on financial decisions.
Make suggestions/recommendations based on financial information.

Requirements
Qualified Accountant (or qualified by experience)
Good understanding of reporting standards
Knowledge of financial tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Management and leadership skills
Ability to work well in a team
Proficiency with spreadsheet and accounting software programs
Organisational skills
Good personal interaction skills
