QA Team Lead/Software Tester
Reports To: Head of IT and Strategic Development

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced QA Team Leader to join our team. Reporting to the Head of IT & Strategic Development, you will lead and manage a team of highly skilled travel technology QAs and ensure software projects of exceptionally high quality are delivered in a timely manner.
You have seen project delivery timelines improve with early involvement of your QA team. Your early intervention has reduced the cost of implementing technology. Your QA team will help improve both business / solution requirements and the quality of the product that is shipped.
You don’t want to waste your team’s time – you will make the case for test automation. You also know that test driven development (TDD) improves an organisation’s ability to implement change with greater velocity and with reduced risk of business interruption. You’re a great communicator that can lead technologists. Developers will enjoy working with your sensible, practical QA team. You are the voice for quality across technology and business processes. You and your team will contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes. You enjoy helping everyone learn lessons through sprint retrospectives. You will work with business stakeholders to understand their goals and needs. You make User Acceptance Testing easier. Your team will produce high quality, considered test plans to govern the delivery of all
software development projects and changes in your charge. You will conduct test plan reviews and coach your team. You’ll be managing a passionate and innovative group of people, so if you’re a self-starter who’s full of fresh ideas, this role is for you. key aspects of the role are:
• Engage with product owners, development team and business stakeholders to understand business needs, solutions and developappropriate quality management controls.
• Design quality test plans, test scripts and automation with your team. You will even have some time to test software yourself.
• Manage the QA aspects of all projects including resource planning, infrastructure changes, development, business changes and third parties.
• Ensure your team plans test efforts within sprints, actively participates in daily standups and provides quality feedback via retrospectives.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders and ensure clear and suitably regular communication is maintained at all stages within the
project life cycle.
• Manage and coach your QA team, identifying and supporting their technology career path needs.
• Provide technicians with a sounding board to help assess test approaches.
• Develop QA roadmap and strategy with Head of IT & Strategic Development.Skills, Experience & Knowledge:
• 5+ years QA Experience including manual and automated testing
• 2+ years in a QA Lead or QA Management role would be beneficial
• A self-starter, with fresh ideas, you listen to your peers and your team
• Ability to conduct workshops with business users to understand requirements
• Highly organised with strong prioritisation, problem solving and good communication skills
• Exceptional time management, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks concurrently against deadlines and deliver agreed requirements
• Experience working in environments practising Agile (SCRUM) as well as Waterfall (or a hybrid)
