Previous modelling/water resource planning experience is essential
The role will support the development of our clients' s 50-year Water Resource Management Plan and 5-year Drought Plan and their contribution to outcome delivery strategies and investment plans to meet their commitment to provide 'A constant supply of high-quality drinking water' to customers.
One role will cover surface water and one groundwater.
Responsibilities
Support the development of the company's 50-year Water Resource Management Plan and 5-year Drought Plan and their contribution to outcome delivery strategies and investment plans to meet our commitment to provide 'A constant supply of high-quality drinking water' to customers.
Water Resource Modelling including Deployable Output assessment, drought forecasting and climate change assessments.
Information research, collation, review and analysis of future water supply needs and availability and costs of options for water resource management / drought planning.
Interpretation of regulatory requirements and guidance for use in water resource management and drought planning.
Interpretation of customer and stakeholder engagement and research for water resource management and drought planning.
Technical analysis and report writing for regulatory submissions.
Preparation and presentation of material for internal and external audit or assurance.
Security of supply assessments for regulatory reporting and business requirements via liaison with compliance and operations directorates.
Represent the company in external meetings, forums and workshops with regulators, water companies and other stakeholders.Skills/Qualifications
Degree in science, engineering, or environmental discipline
Postgraduate qualification in Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Water Resource Management or Engineering desirable
Experience in water resource management and/or drought planning.
Experience in water resources modelling using Aquator or pywr.
Track record of research, analysis and quality assurance of information which is used for water resource management planning and business analysis.
Experience in data assessment using Python, R desirable
Demonstrated ability in autonomous working.Benefits
