Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an HR Consultant in our HR Advisory Team which is part of the Orbis partnership encompassing Brighton & Hove City Council, East Sussex County Council and Surrey County Council.  The purpose of this partnership is to deliver greater value for our councils, residents and customers by increasing efficiencies and exploiting the benefits of sharing people, resources and technology.

Job Introduction

You will be delivering a professional HR Advisory service primarily within Brighton & Hove City Council although on occasion you could support case work for customers in East Sussex County Council.  You will work within a large team of Consultants across the partnership providing advice and guidance and you may also provide advice to schools.

You will be working to build the capacity of line managers to resolve people management issues effectively and professionally within a busy and fast paced environment and these will include large change programmes, grievance, disciplinary and capability cases. It is important to us that we meet and strive to exceed where possible the expectations of our customers.   We are therefore looking for someone with excellent communication skills, personal resilience and the ability to build strong working relationships with customers whilst contributing to continuous evolution in quality and scope of services provided. Additional Information

There is 1 full time (37hrs) opportunity – Fixed Term for 1 year.

Salary Range: SO1/2 – £26,999 - £31,371.
